A good day to start a new blog

I've started another blog as a simple experiment. Is blogging really just for parenting and politics? Is that where everyone is? My other blog is on NYC theatre. Irish theatre specifically. A niche area, I do admit. It's getting lonely. I'm anxious to see what happens to blogs outside the arts world. (I do love my two readers though. I do!)

A director of a theatre festival recently answered a panel question as to "how his festival was using digital media? Was he blogging about the festival?" His reply was that "email was a useful tool in working with writers in Ireland." This is an indication of where the arts are on the www.

Anyway. I digress. Besides writing futile pieces on contemporary theatre, I lead a challenging home life. In fact, I would qualify to be vice-president if number of children was a criteria. I also have sideswept bangs, wear my hair up and have cool glasses. I do not have a rifle however. Perhaps I'm not adequate for the nomination.

Tomorrow two of my seven children are off to their psychiatrists. R. (14 years old) has his appt. at 9:45. He has recently shown some disturbing behavior. Having long experience with mental illness, we are running to the dr.  My daughter M. (16) has a family meeting tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the psychiatric hospital where she was committed by her school yesterday with my blessing.

I told you it was challenging. I, for once, am not exaggerating.

The eve before such a momentous day, and yet a day just like another, seemed as good a day as any to start a blog!
